Paper Mache Mask Making — A Two-Day Workshop with Heartwood Creative Arts

  • The Art Lounge AK - Suite 3 300 East Dimond Boulevard Anchorage, AK, 99515 United States (map)

Tuesday, September 8 & 15 | 3:00-5:00

Masks have been worn for centuries to tell stories, transform identities, and bring imagination to life, and now it's your turn. In this two day workshop, you'll start with a mask armature and sculpt it into a creature entirely your own: a mythical beast, a wild animal, or something dreamed up from your imagination alone. On day one, we'll layer paper mache to build a sturdy, wearable base, shaping horns, snouts, beaks, or whatever your creature calls for.

On day two, your mask comes to life. We will paint, add feathers, sequins, and all kinds of wild embellishments until your creation has a personality all its own. Wear it, display it, or take center stage in it, this one of a kind mask wearable art built to turn heads at your next party, parade, or big event.

Great for kids who love animals, mythical creatures, and dreaming up something no one else has ever made before.
